This 13 years old quiet girl who wouldn't mingle much with other children was first noticed in the life skills group session. She usually would come wearing the same old clothes.
When she was introduced to individual counselling, she was fearful and struggled to be assertive. After some sessions of building rapport, she revealed that her family struggled to meet their basic needs such as food, shelter and clothing. She had nobody to share her problems with, she had no personal goals in life, and she would always be preoccupied with her family situation. Counsellor took the consent of Tanya, and shared these concerns about her family situation with the Center authorities who took prompt action to provide groceries and other needs to Tanya and her family. This intervention tremendously helped Tanya stabilise and focus more on herself. Through the counselling process, Tanya's confidence has now developed, her anxiety level has reduced, she has found a few trusted adults to share her struggle with, and she has become more regular at the centre. She is also taking an active interest in learning English. She stated, "I am so happy that I can now read and write in English." Tanya has set a goal to become a teacher someday.

Shama was tricked by a couple to come to mumbai and work as a maid. They sold her to a brothel keeper, she spent the next 10 years in the red light area. In desperation, she took a partner from the area who continued to exploit her for prostitution. She was in huge debt and was in despair.
When she was pregnant with her 3rd child, she met the director of sahasee embers, took her family in, made arrangements for her delivery and even renovated her home so that her new born child would have a clean environment. After the birth of the child, both mother and her baby were invited to stay at Sahasee Embers and both were taken care of by the staff.
Seeing this kind of sacrificial love, Shama decided to leave prostitution and come to a new life of respect. Money was arranged by friends to pay of all the debts, a room was arranged for the small family and now Shama is working in our small project called Sahasee Udyog where such women find dignity and work.

Harsh and Rehman( names changed) are children of the red light area enrolled in the education program of Sahasee Embers.
They are as different as chalk and cheese. They are from different faiths, different states, and have different customs. But humanity binds them together. Harsh was so excited to get admission in an English medium school at the beginning of this academic year. However, due to one problem after the other in the family, his attendance was irregular. Things came to a head. When Harsh's mother fractured her hand, there was no one to care for her or for her kids. There was no one to send them to school. So Rehman stepped up. This little eight year old boy goes every day to his neighbours house and wakes up Harsh. His mother helps to send a simple tiffin. Sahasee Embers and our partner schools and NGOs aim to educate our young ones to serve our country and serve humanity without borders. Rehman is a perfect example of someone who “Loves his neighbour.”

At Vivace, we believe in empowering young minds through coffee. Ashwini, a passionate 19-year-old intern, recently embarked on an incredible journey with us, thanks to our collaboration with local non-profit organizations.
During her internship, we didn't just hand her an apron and show her the espresso machine; we took her on an exciting coffee adventure! Taking pride in following the standards set by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). We ensured that Ashwini learned the techniques to make coffee that met these standards. It's important to us that our interns not only develop their skills but also gain knowledge that sets them apart.
Ashwini's eagerness to learn was contagious. She soaked up every bit of training we provided, and with each passing day, her skills improved and her dedication shone through. At Vivace, we became her mentors, cheerleaders, and friends, supporting her every step of the way. From mastering the art of steaming milk to encouraging her to practice tirelessly, we nurtured her growth. By walking alongside these young talented individuals, we aim to improve their lives and offer them a brighter future. Due to the lockdown many children were left without any options for education. Schools were closed, and literacy levels dropped. Many older children were in danger of discontinuing their studies.
Through the hard work of the students and the relentless devotion of their teacher these children have leapt from No reading level to reading basic Hindi and English. They will now go on to complete their education through NIOS. Some of them will simultaneously enrol in Technical programs. Sahasee Embers believes that their lives have been turned around due to this intervention.
