Mr. Guy Rodrigues, Co-Founder & Trustee of Sahasee Embers
and his wife Mrs. Vani Guy Rodrigues, since 2009, have been
involved in humanitarian work in and around the slums of
Navi Mumbai. They were ordinary citizens moved by the
extraordinary suffering of the people who are victims of
trafficking, they began their work with practical deeds such
as medical camps, cleanliness drives and awareness programs
on girl safety. They provided monthly ration and during the
rains distributed plastic as covering for their shanties.
In 2017, when we had conducted a medical camp in the slum of
Turbhe, Navi Mumbai. We invited the sex workers of the Red
Light Area to come with their Children. On further
investigation we came to know that the child was suffering
from trauma. We asked the people of the red light area and
they confirmed that she was the daughter of a sex worker .
she had been raped at the age of 4 by her mothers customer.
Sahasee Embers has been awarded the "Rotary Vocational Excellence Award 2022-23" for providing hope and healing to marginalised communities. With Restorative justice, team Sahasee Embers, offers resources and opportunities for children of the red light area in turbhe to mend and fill past fractures through their efforts of love.

The goal of Sahasee Embers is to bring an end to intergenerational cycles of exploitation and prevent human trafficking by uplifting the marginalised section of the society.
Childrens were suffering from deeply rooted intergenerational exploitation. We do not cover over the fractures of the past; rather, we seek to walk alongside the victims of injustice, offering resources and opportunities by which their fractures may be mended.
Today, we are very much pleased to share that we are serving and educating 110 children out of which 68 kids are admitted in an international school. We also provide remedial education, early childhood education and after school programs. It has been a tough journey for us and without good friends it would be near impossible. We are so grateful and joyful to have such wonderful friends like you.
Through the legal aid clinic in the red light area we have impacted the lives of 148 women's through various legal services over the year 2022-2023.
